Port Jervis Sparks Inspiration in Artist Guild Members
The Executive Suite Gallery in the Orange County Government Center is hosting an exhibit by the River Valley Artists Guild from April 22 to June 17, 2009. In addition to works by individual members of the Guild, the highlight of the show is a large montage of nineteen scenes of Port Jervis, each one by a different member. The collaborative piece will tour Orange County before settling in its permanent home at Port Jervis City Hall. “The time and energy spent on this group project has been well-received by the community, and thoroughly enjoyed by the artists of the River Valley Artists Guild,” said Joan Kehlenbeck, president of the organization.
Since its founding in 2004, the Port Jervis based River Valley Artists Guild has held many demonstrations and classes, as well as taken part in the Port Jervis Arts Walk and annual group exhibitions at Orange County Community College.
